Wedding Day in San Diego

My brother Jeff and his beautiful fiancee Clarissa were married on Friday, in the San Diego temple. It was a beautiful day starting with a delicious luncheon. Afterward, we enjoyed walking on the temple grounds with the kids. It was a gorgeous temple. I'd actually never been to that one. The wedding was wonderful and the reception following was enjoyed by everyone. The entertainment was fabulous and the dancing envigorating. Even the little kids enjoyed themselves!

I thought this one of Jace and his cousin Avery was so cute! He was being so cute with her all day, holding her hand and taking her everywhere.Alyssa's family Married nine years, I think we deserve to squeeze in a dance ourselves!

Jace reading "Funny Bunny"

So # 1, before you freak out, yes this is Alyssa posting something to our family blog. I know that it's been ages. But when you have a man around the house who does it as well as Nick does, why rock the boat? But today I took a small video worth posting on my own. # 2, think what you'd like, but I don't believe that I fall under any category of parent who believes that their child must be all-knowing or all-reading, for that matter (before ever reaching kindergarten). Jace is a high maintenance, bored kind of a kid, and heaven knows we need some constructive ways to keep him occupied around the house. So for the past month or two, we've taken up casual (Mom made up) "school." It's been fun to him, he even gets on my case really, (relax Jace, I have to tell him) if we miss a day or two- so judge it as you like- but apparently it's paid off. He has a few books that he can now read by himself! It's been quite surprising and exciting to me, really! So I'm posting my child's first reading moments. :) I'm so glad that we still have a year together before I ship him off to kindergarten next year. I'm not ready to give him up yet!
