But it's not as small as Anna's Mommy's...

So today I was reading a Berenstain Bear's Book to Ella. It's the one about getting a new baby sister. The book was telling about how the Momma Bear's tummy had been getting harder and harder to sit on since it had been growing rounder. Before I had Quincey, Ella and I had some conversations about how after Quincey was born, that my tummy would eventually go back to it's normal size. Thinking of that conversation, and while reading the book, I pointed out to Ella that my tummy was about normal size again. She agreed. Then paused, put her pointer finger out to me and said, "But... (long pause) it's not as small as Anna's Mommy's." LOL!! True! I'll admit Ella, that my cute, petite, little neighbor most definitely has a smaller tummy than I have. THANKS for pointing that out! Ha ha.

We've started a new evening tradition lately. We go on walks. We are so lucky to have this beautiful trail right by our house that goes side by side with a creek. There are tall trees on both sides that shade us like a tunnel. I've learned that it's easier to stick Quincey in her sling rather than the stroller. And then off we go: 3 kids, our dog, and my sweet hubby. I love this cool spring weather we've been having. It's been my outing that I look forward to daily. Tonight was no different. I especially love the purple lilac trees that grow on the trail. They smell sooooo good!
A few pictures taken today... Yes, Quincey's hair fell out on the top of her head. Sad! Hopefully some bigger bows will distract from the male pattern baldness!

2 pounds in 2 weeks!

Little "Q" is not so little anymore! At her birth, she weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. At her 2 and a half week check up, she weighed a whole 9 lbs. 2 oz! She's 4 weeks tomorrow, and I don't know what she weighs now. But I'm telling you, while all my kids have been average size at birth, within a couple of weeks they hit about the 90th percentile and stay there!
I'll tell you what... I am so just enjoying Quincey! She is so snuggable! If you could kiss a baby too much, then I'm guilty! One evening I just kept kissing her soft little skin. Nick was in the kitchen, and noticing, said, "Are you STILL kissing her?" um... yeah?? How can I help not?
So far, the adjustment from 2 kids to three has been easier and less stressful to me than that of 1 to 2 kids. I think it's because my other two are older. A four year spread between these two has been a lot more pleasant for me, honestly. And also, Quincey is such a good sleeper at night. Oh my, don't tell Nick... but this experience is making me question... only 3 kids? Maybe just one more after this??????
Oh it's not all roses... she's learned that she loves to be held a lot more than to be set down. Little stinker. But I'm sure all my kisses and cuddles are to blame. Or maybe that sling I made her, and put her in a lot. She LOVES that thing. She goes right to sleep every time I stick her in my little "kangaroo pocket." Then when I try to pull her out of that tight little thing, it's like she's being reborn again. Ha ha.
Well, here's a few pictures of the little rolley one.

So he's normal, right?

This weekend Nick, Jace and Ella were watching the first movie from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Jace was trying to keep track of and understand the different characters and so asked Nick which one was the short guy. Then he asked about a different character with average height, clarifying with the question, "So he's normal, right?" Before Nick had even responded, Ella piped in saying, "Yeah, Jace. But it doesn't matter how people are!" That's right Ella. You tell him. We had a good laugh.
